Remember when Mike Posner had his web series One Foot Out the Door? Well Chiddy Bang’s doing the same thing, and theirs is called The Swelly Life. Check out episode one for some footage of them cruising around NYC, visiting a radio station, and performing at their epic Terminal 5 concert with RJD2 and Pretty Lights.

New video for one of Chiddy Bang’s all time dopest songs. It’s from way before they even released a mixtape, but it’s still one of my favorites.

That Kid C-G

I haven’t even listened to this yet, but I’ll go out on a limb and say it’s gonna be dope. His first three songs off the mixtape, Tell Me, Get In Your Zone, and Fork In the Road were all sick. He shows us why he’s a Chiddy Bang affiliate. Check out Get In Your Zone with Chiddy from Chiddy Bang below and download the mixtape.

In what was no doubt one of the most epic concerts of the year, Chiddy Bang and Pretty Lights rocked NYC’s Terminal 5 along with RJD2. I couldn’t make it out for the concert, so this recap video is about as close as I’ll get.

Chiddy Bang

XV and Killer Mike help out Chiddy Bang for a remix of their Swelly Express hit “Never.” XV’s always good, but I’m not feeling this Killer Mike guy too much.

That Kid CG

Chiddy Bang affiliate, That Kid C-G, is pretty dope. If you like Chiddy Bang, and I don’t see how someone could not, you’ll be into him. He brings some of that same lighthearted, fun energy to his music. We’re excited to see what this dude can do in the future.

Chiddy and Xaphoon Jones were chillin over at Translation, LLC (we told you they were getting big things done!), and Chiddy dropped a freestyle over some random instrumentals thrown together by Xaphoon. Samples include “Two Weeks” by Grizzly Bear, “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5, and “Lip Gloss” by Lil Kim.

Reinvention

Reinvention, the latest hip-hop duo to emerge from Philadelphia, is going to be drawing a lot of comparisons to Chiddy Bang in the future. Not only are both made up of an emcee/producer duo, but they also both take indie music samples and twist them around to create electro-hip-hop singles. Oh, and they also both hail from the same school, Drexel University. As similar as Reinvention is to Chiddy Bang (who really can’t be beat), they bring their own strengths to the table. DJ Entendu provides the beats, and Will Thomas (aka Classic) drops the rhymes. It’s a solid combination, and any band that samples Florence & the Machine and Grizzly Bear is one I want to hear more from. Check out their first single below, and hit the links for their Myspace page and official website.
