KiD CuDi

I can tell that CuDi’s moving away from the mainstream stuff he’s done in the past with these new leaks. This isn’t as “abstract” as “REVOFEV,” but it’s definitely not anything that’s gonna get on the radio. I think it’s dope, but I can see a lot of people hating on it in the near future.

I think this is a track that didn’t make the cut for Thank Me Later, but it’s a few days late. Check it out below and enjoy.

Magic Kids

Magic Kids are an upcoming indie outlet from Memphis, and this new single of theirs is a super chill summer jam appropriately entitled “Summer.” They remind me a lot of San Francisco band Girls. Check it out.

G-Scott

So we got this song through email submission and I’m really feeling it. G-Scott is a 19 year old college student/artist/producer from Gary, Indiana. He’s opened up for the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Travis Porter, and Big Sean and his next mixtape, The Blackout,  is dropping in September. We’re keeping a lookout for G-Scott, and so should you.

October's Very Cold

This is epic. So so so good. I’m a huge Coldplay fan and I happen to also love Drake (who doesn’t?) and along comes Chi Duly to put craft this gem. I’m super impressed that he was able to so flawlessly mash two unique artists to create this. Enough talking though, go listen to it and download it!

Download Here

Following in the tradition of Danger Mouse’s iconic mashup The Grey Album, October’s Very Cold is a remix album produced by Chi Duly (Nappy Roots, The Pack, Termanology). It features Drake, aka October’s Very Own, over Coldplay samples (as well as Coldplay vocals over Drake instrumental samples on intro and outro). The first track released from this project a couple weeks ago has more than 10k downloads across the internet, and was posted on the biggest record pool in the world, DJ City. The Drake x Coldplay combination under the control of Chi Duly yields a smooth and seamless sound. This shit is great.

Dumbfoundead

We’ve really been feeling Dumbfoundead lately and we’re hoping to get you hooked as well. I knew absolutely nothing about him before writing this article, except that he’s an Asian dude that’s crazy-good a rhyming. I’ll let his Last.fm account do the talking, and be sure to check out some of his stuff below as well, and cop his new mixtape, cleverly titled FREE New Music that just dropped on June 8th.:

Dumbfoundead was never that timid asian kid who did all your homework in math class. In fact, if you were to cheat off him, you would be fucking yourself over. He was the class clown and the kid who asked for your lunch tickets so he can get a second lunch. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he came to reside in Koreatown, Los Angeles, at the age of 3 and discovered Project Blowed at the age of 16.

Being exposed to hip-hop at an early age, he randomly walked into a community center in Macarthur Park when he was 14 years old, running into Los Angeles OG’s such as Mark Luv (Zulu Nation), Poppin’ Chuck, Cre8 (RTN), and EZ Rock (Rocksteady). This is where he started freestyling and learning the history of hip-hop. The year after, a friend from high school took him to a place called Project Blowed in South Central where he found out what DOPE really was. that night he heard some of the most amazing freestylers, rappers like Otherwize, Riddlore, Nocando, P.E.A.C.E., and many more. After ripping countless cyphers and battles he earned the respect of the OG’s and became one of the “Blowdians” himself.

Nneka

Nas made this beat for Nneka for her LP, Concrete Jungle, and then decided to hop on a verse for a remix and the result is straight dirt sauce. Nneka is a Nigerian singer with some serious upside. She was chosen by Damian and Nas to open up for them on their Distant Relatives tour so watch out for that.  I love Nas’s recent work, particularly on the album Distant Relatives, my early front runner for album of the year. He’s rapping about stuff that matters and I’m just really digging it. Check it out below and enjoy.

Aloe Blacc Femme Fatale

Ever since “How to Make it in America” used Aloe Blacc’s “I Need a Dollar” as it’s theme song, I’ve been following the guy. I’m definitely not a “soul” person per se, but I love almost everything this guy puts out. It’s some super chill easy listening. Get it below.

That Kid C-G

I haven’t even listened to this yet, but I’ll go out on a limb and say it’s gonna be dope. His first three songs off the mixtape, Tell Me, Get In Your Zone, and Fork In the Road were all sick. He shows us why he’s a Chiddy Bang affiliate. Check out Get In Your Zone with Chiddy from Chiddy Bang below and download the mixtape.
