I can tell that CuDi’s moving away from the mainstream stuff he’s done in the past with these new leaks. This isn’t as “abstract” as “REVOFEV,” but it’s definitely not anything that’s gonna get on the radio. I think it’s dope, but I can see a lot of people hating on it in the near future.
This is a pretty cool video that VEVO put together of CuDi performing “REVOFEV” live at his free concert at the Bape store in NYC a while ago. It documents the night and has some interview footage as well. Too bad they didn’t stick around with CuDi all night, cause this was the same night he got arrested for tearing down some girl’s door and possessing a “controlled substance.”
The radio rip of this song surfaced a while ago, and now the full version has leaked. It’s still clean, but at least it’s the full CDQ. Some people have called this song too “mainstream” or “pop,” but I love it.
This is actually a pretty funny video. Johnny Polygon, an upcoming hip-hop artist whose worked with Cudi in the past, recalls his experience on the set of the “Pursuit of Happiness” video.
Converse brought together these three artists to make a new track, and the result is pretty cool. It’s like a complete fusion of indie rock and hip-hop with a nice catchy chorus. Get the song below and check out a quick video of the artists working together on the song.
I happened to be listening to 96.6 Kiss FM in my car yesterday, and all of a sudden the DJ starts talking about how some unknown person dropped off a single track CD at the station’s offices claiming that it contained the new Kanye West/KiD CuDi single. I practically veered off the road with excitement, and when he played it, I was amazed. It’s from Cudi’s upcoming album, Man on the Moon: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Dope.
Converse made this quick short on KiD CuDi where he goes back to Cleveland and talks about how he got started as a rapper. This is part of a project that Converse is doing with Cudder in which they’re sponsoring a song that he and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij are doing with indie rockers Best Coast. Should be a cool project.
Mark your calendars. On September 14th, 2010, the music gods will once again grace us with the incredible gift of a KiD CuDi album. Cudi released this new song (along with that other information) on his personal website. Check it out…where will you be for the revolution?
I was really disappointed when “That Tree” first came out because the beat was pretty horrendous. Big Z took it and did exactly what was needed. He gave it a cool new beat and kept Snoop and Cudi’s vocals, making it into a song that I’ll actually enjoy listening to. Get it below.
KiD CuDi and Chip tha Ripper (together the Almighty GloryUS) have released another single. I used youtube for this one, so hopefully it doesn’t get taken down. Anyways, it’s dope, but what do you expect from this dynamic duo from Cleveland? Check it out below and download it.
Some good new stuff dropped today, which isn’t very surprising considering it’s every musician’s favorite holiday. First off, some new Jay Electronica– it’s always good to get new content from this guy because his drops are so infrequent. Next, jj takes on Jeremiah’s “Birthday Sex.” It’s not as good as their “Lollipop” cover, but it’s nice. Finally, Rich Hil teams up with Cudi and Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes for two new cuts off his upcoming album.
