Mike rocks out with 2am Club, Chiddy Bang, and Big Sean at UNC, then he heads back to Duke to turn in his final paper. It’s the final episode of the series, but keep your eye on Mike Posner. He’s doing big things this year.

Elitaste just announced Mike Posner’s tour dates for the next few months. I’ve seen Posner live, and he puts on a great show, so it’s definitely worth going to see him at one of these smaller venues before he hops on the Warped Tour this summer. Mike Posner’s 5th webisode of his entertaining “One Foot Out The Door” series was put up today and features him doing a show at the University of Michigan. In case you’ve forgotten, the series gives fans a look at the hectic but entertaining life of Posner. He’s in his senior year at Duke, one of the toughest schools in America, but he’s also signed a record deal with Sony Records and is bound to blow up. Watch how he juggles trying to graduate with jet-setting around the country to do shows.

Mike Posner’s newest mixtape, One Foot Out the Door, originally supposed to be released tomorrow, was leaked early today and is now available on iTunes. This mixtape shows a lot of growth from Posner and is definitely a nice preview of what his 2010 album will be like.
The tape is very similar to Posner’s last one, A Matter of Time, but we can tell that Mike’s grown a lot as both an artist and producer. It doesn’t feature as many covers as A Matter of Time did, something we were looking forward to for this one. However, the covers Posner does do on this are pretty nasty, including an exceptional take on John Mayer’s “I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You).” Most of the other songs are Posner’s own, and there are some pretty incredible tracks on there. His two collaborations with Big Sean are two of the best songs on the tape and are actually better than anything I’ve heard from Big Sean on his own mixtapes. The two make a great team and are definitely a pair to watch for in the future.
There’s some other great artists featured on the mixtape including Kid Cudi, XV, GLC, Saigon, and Clinton Sparks. Though a few of these songs were dropped a while ago, they’re all definitely worth listening to again (his remixes of 3oh!3’s Don’t Trust Me with Kid Cudi and XV’s Mirror’s Edge are both great songs). The production on the mixtape, mostly done by Posner himself, is top of the line, and it’s nice not to have any “CANNON” tags interrupting the songs anymore. This is definitely one of the top mixtapes to be dropped this year, but I still feel like it’s going to be topped by Posner’s first album. Mike continues to prove that he’s one of the best new artists out there, blending hip-hop, pop, and electronic music into a different category that’s unique and incredibly entertaining. We’re looking forward to seeing what this guy does in the future, but for now we’re just enjoying the awesomeness of his latest debut.

Two great mixtapes have been leaked early today. The first is Mike Posner’s One Foot Out the Door, available for free on the itunes store. The second is Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated No Ceiling mixtape, available for download here: http://limelinx.com/files/228c2e37c15be90b47e5b971546cb3be. We haven’t heard the whole Wayne mixtape, but music critic Matthew Chimes says “It’s dirtsauce!” Check the site later for reviews on both mixtapes.

This artwork for Mike Posner’s upcoming mixtape, One Foot Out the Door, was recently released on the Elitaste website. It promises that the new mixtape, which will be released on October 29, will be even better than his last mixtape, A Matter of Time and will feature guest performances by Kid Cudi, 3oh!3, Wale, Big Sean, XV, and more. It also includes a video of Posner in the studio working on the mixtape. Check it out.
