I hated the “Women Lie, Men Lie” original song, but I checked it out because Wale was on the remix (I mean, he took Flocka’s horrible “O, Let’s Do It” and made it good). This one left me dissappointed, though. What do you think?
Found this track over at GMAD. Wale hops on a track with his D.C.-based band U.C.B. and spits a dirty verse towards the end of the song. Colin Munroe sings the hook, and overall it’s a funky, catchy song. Check it out below and grab it.
This playlist, put together by DJ Benzi, is a must have. It is a ton of remixes from the mega music festival SXSW in Houston and features artists like Mike Posner, Chiddy Bang, Wale, J. Cole, Asher Roth, Curren$y, Xaphoon Jones, 2AM Club, and more. It’s like they checked out our site and put together a mixtape of our most mentioned artists. It’s perfect. Preview it below and make sure you download it.
Lupe announced via Twitter yesterday that a new group, called the “All City Chess Club,” was in the studio. Later, he put out the above tweet saying who was in the group. We’re not exactly sure what they’re working on together, but it’s no doubt going to be an amazing project. I can’t imagine how cool it would be if all of those guys did an album, mixtape, or even just a song together.
Wale decided to take this joint for a ride and we really like it. He kills everything he’s on though, so this is no surprise. Check it out below and download it here.
Last year, XXL Magazine unveiled their list of the Freshmen Ten and they were pretty much dead on with their predictions of upcoming rappers that would make a big splash in the hip-hop game for 2009. Last year’s list: Kid Cudi, Wale, B.o.B., Asher Roth, Ace Hood, Blu, Curren$y, Charles Hamilton, Mickey Factz, Cory Gunz. This is supposedly 2010’s list which officially comes out March 16th (J.Cole, XV, and Wiz definitely make the cut but I can’t say I agree whatsoever with Nicki Minaj making the list…:
Check out the video where they “hide” the identities of four of this year’s ten (it’s Pill, Nipsey Hu$$le, J. Cole and Fashawn)
I’m not sure if it’s his incredible lyricism, his flow, or something else that makes Wale so good, but he kills almost every track he goes in on. If you haven’t downloaded his new album (and all of his mixtapes for that matter), do so now.
Here are two freestyle’s he’s dropped lately. The first is over Timbaland’s “Say Something,” and the second is over Jay-Z’s “Thank You.” They’re both pretty damn good. Enjoy.
Check out this new drop from Wale. We’re not sure if its a rejected album song or just another random single, but it’s pretty good. Preview and download it below.
